Helen Elizabeth Urquhart Stevens, a Denver native, died July 17, 2002 in her Denver home of forty eight years. Graveside services and interment will be held Monday, 10 AM at Fairmount Cemetery. She was born on July 11, 1907 in Denver. Graduated from Manual High School and attended Barnes Business School and Emily Griffith Opportunity
School. James Olin Stevens, husband, preceded her in death in 1955. Helen was an Assistant Preschool teacher in the Denver Public Schools Parent Education/Preschool Program from 1956 to 1977. She taught at various schools throughout the Denver area including historic Dora Moore. For nineteen years she was a volunteer at The Children's Hospital with 10,290 hours of service. She volunteered in the Radiology Department and thrift store. She is survived by her daughter, Eva Marie Stevens of Denver. Contributions may be made to the Helen U. Stevens Memorial Fund, The Children's Hospital Foundation, 1245 E. Colfax Ave.,Denver, CO 80218.
