It is with great sadness we announce, Helen Lierman, age 82 went to be with the Lord, on October 13, 2018, after a battle with metastatic breast cancer. She passed away at the hospital surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on February 15, 1936 and was the youngest of 5 children and the only girl having 4 older brothers. Helen was married to Gene in May 1955, and they had a son (Steve) in 1957.
Helen was a woman of faith and a member of Gethsemane Lutheran church. She loved to cook and was amazing at it, she was most famous for her homemade noodles and croutons, as that was always a special request by the family during the holidays and family gatherings. Helen was also known to have a big selection of snacks at the house that everyone enjoyed while over to visit, especially the grandchildren. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family, cards and dominos on Saturday with the family, walking and caring for her dog Yogi. She enjoyed and watched the grand kids on Thursdays and they would go to Target, play games have ice cream or make snow cones and going to the park. Helen was the kindest soul with a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her son Steve; brothers Harold and George; Grandchildren Dan (Julie), David, Jennifer (Dwayne). Helen will also be fondly remembered by her six great-grandchildren; Brayden, Teagan, Ashlynn, Tyler, Mathias, and Davian. Helen will also be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and by her extended family and dear friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents, step mother, husband, and brothers Elmer and John.
The family would especially like to thank Carol, Helen's dear friend, for coming from the east coast to offer her and the family a helping hand during Helen's last few days on this earth. Helen will be cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
A funeral service will be held on November 14th / 11am at Gethsemane Lutheran Church located at 10675 Washington St. in Northglenn, CO.
