Helen Mary Ann Dunda- McCauley
July 4th, 1937 - April 20th, 2024
Known to most simply as "mama", Helen passed away at the age of 86 on the afternoon of Saturday April 20th. Helen was born in Chicago, Illinois to father John Dunda and mother Agnes Ondesco-Dunda, who both preceded her in death. She graduated high school in 1955 from Old Centennial Highschool in Pueblo, Colorado.
It was there that she met her husband and high school sweetheart William "Bill" McCauley; they were married on August 22nd, 1959, at the Cathedral in Pueblo. Having been strong in her Catholic faith, for many years she attended Immaculate Heart of Mary in Northglenn, CO and was a current member of Nativity of Our Lord Church in Broomfield, CO. During their 65 years
of marriage, they had two children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandkids. Helen was a loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. It was a well-known fact that Helen had a big heart with her family at the center of it. She was one mean mama not to be messed with. She cared for her family with her love for cooking and baking; she
was most well known for making one mean pot of spaghetti with vanishing meatballs, and Czech pastries such as Kolacky and Patisa.
Throughout her life she had a love for travel - especially with her family. In these travels, via various modes of transportation such as motorcycle, camper, fifth wheel, and car she explored all the states west of the Mississippi, and even a trip to Europe. In her later years Helen had the chance to go on a few cruises with her husband to Alaska and the Caribbean. Helen had a
passion for gardening and loved watching the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos play. Helen is survived by her husband Bill and their two children: John Floyd McCauley and Joanna Fawn Anderson; her daughter-in-law Beth McCauley and her son-in-law Neal Anderson. Her six grandchildren- Drew Holderby, Adam Holderby, Kyle Holderby, William "Will" Anderson,
Ryan "RJ" Anderson, and Hanna "Lucky" Anderson. Her four great-grandchildren, Olivia Holderby, Troy Holderby, Rosalie Holderby, and Astor Holderby. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
