Helen Ruth Rose was born to Frank and Sarafina Bondy in Denver, Colorado on March 18, 1921. Helen grew up in North Denver and met her future husband, Albert Rose, in elementary school. She graduated from North High School. Helen and Albert were married on September 7, 1941.
She stayed in North Denver while Albert went to war in Europe and after the war they made North Denver their home. In the early 1950's with their two children they moved to Aurora. While living in Aurora she became very active in the community. She joined the Adams-Arapahoe Women's Club and was elected twice as President. While President she took a strong interest in trying to get Aurora it's first hospital. The Women's Club formed the Aurora General Hospital Association, which did fundraising and purchasing land for the hospital. Helen became President of this association. During this period, she had two more children. In 1975, the Aurora Presbyterian Hospital opened its doors, Helen was very proud of this accomplishment.
Also during these years, while Helen was still very active in the Adams-Arapahoe Women's Club, she joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs and became an officer. Helen joined and became very active in the LaSertoma club. She was on the PTA for each of the schools her children attended. During this time she took an interest in Easter Seals and became involved in this organization.
In 1973, Albert and her moved to Belmont, California near San Francisco. In 1976, they moved back to Colorado to be near their children and new granddaughter. They lived in Lakewood where her youngest son graduated from high school. She became active in Easter Seals again, especially in their yearly fund drive.
In 1978, Albert and her moved to Greeley. There she worked for State Farm and retired in 1986. While in Greeley she was still active in the community, she joined the Greeley Assistance League. In 1983, Albert and her traveled to Europe. Helen enjoyed traveling in Italy where her parents were born. She also visited Singapore and Hong Kong. She enjoyed traveling.
In 1990, Albert and her moved back to Lakewood to be near family and friends.
While living there, Helen became active in the Denver Assistance League and Sons of Italy. Even though she wasn't a Catholic she also took an interest in Mother Cabrini's Shrine. She was involved in their Bingo fundraising events and was their treasurer.
While living in Lakewood at the Green Mountain Townhouses she was very busy with fundraising projects for improvements on their clubhouse. Helen was always active and involved until Alzheimer's was diagnosed and her life slowed down.
In November 2004 Albert and she moved back to Greeley to Bonell Good Samaritan Community to be close to their daughter. Helen died on May 26, 2009.
Survivors: Children; Gary (Karey) Rose, Marcia (Greg) Woods, Valerie (Pat) Lewis, and Albert B. Rose, and five grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Services on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 12:30PM both at the Newcomer Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel, 901 So. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood, CO.
Interment following services at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
