Henrietta "Hendy" Gonzales

Henrietta "Hendy" Gonzales, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 1, 2024, just shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday. Born in Denver on November 15, 1934, Hendy was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with her sassy spirit, traditional values, and selfless nature.

For 50 years, Hendy dedicated her career to the laundry department at North Suburban Medical Center, where her loving demeanor and hardworking ethic made a lasting impression on both colleagues and patients alike. Retirement came in celebration of her longstanding commitment, allowing her to fully embrace the joys of family and leisure.

Hendy took immense pride in the life she built—a testament to her strength and determination. Purchasing her very own home in 1978 was one of her proudest accomplishments, a place where countless memories and love flourished. Hosting holiday get-togethers surrounded by family was one of her greatest joys, showcasing her love for bringing everyone together around the kitchen table filled with warmth and home-cooked meals. She often spent her free time shopping, going for walks in the park, and creating a nurturing environment for her family to thrive.

Hendy's love for her family knew no bounds. She is survived by her son Edward, cherished sister Joann, and her grandchildren Dejia, Jasmine, Sean, and David who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts. Her memory will live on through their stories, laughter, and the values she instilled in each of them.

In death, Hendy rejoins her beloved husband Frank Torrez, her children Terry, Barry and Tommy, Her mother Lina, and her sister Frances creating a familial bond that transcends this life. As she reunites with her loved ones, we take solace in knowing that her spirit continues to shine brightly, embodied in the love she instilled in those she left behind.

A graveside service will be held on December 17, 2024, at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, Cremation & Cemetery in Denver, CO, at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her beautiful life and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Hendy Gonzales, you will be dearly missed but forever remembered as a loving, caring woman whose legacy will endure through the generations.
