Huey Robert Booth, 88, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
Huey was born to the late James Robert and Annie Laura Clark Booth on July 12, 1935, in Kinston, Alabama. Huey graduated from Geneva County High School in 1954 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956. He was the oldest of twelve siblings. He and former spouse, Bridget Barber Booth, raised four children together while frequently moving around the world.
Huey was an Aircraft Armaments Systems Specialist in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 26 years of service to our country. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, earning the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf, the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign. After his military service he spent a further 20 years in the garage door repair and installation business.
Huey enjoyed gardening, family genealogy, Civil War history, playing guitar, classic country music, fishing, camping, cooking & canning, and took pride in his military career and service. He was an avid supporter of military veterans, particularly Vietnam War veterans.
Huey is survived by his companion, Teresa Reaney; former wife and friend, Bridget Barber Booth; children: Paul (Barbara) Booth, Joanne Booth, Deborah Burns, and Patricia (Jon) Thow; grandchildren: Brian Booth, Joshua Seley, Gregory Booth and Desiree Booth; three great-grandchildren; and siblings: Harlan (Betty) Booth, Ellen Ferrell, Laura (Sammy) Messer, Wayne Booth, and Terry Booth. He is predeceased by his parents, James Robert and Annie Laura Clark Booth; and siblings: Herman Booth, Ann Hawkins, Martha Blocker, Michele Booth, Virginia Booth, and Margaret Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire, New Mexico.
Services will be held at a future date at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Geneva, Alabama.
