We announce with deep sorrow the passing of Hugo Redlin, a warm, loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, Step grandfather and great grandfather. Hugo was born on December 18, 1932, in Appleton, Wisconsin and passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at his home in Aurora, Colorado. He was a pillar of strength and wisdom for his family, and his lessons on the importance of patience and frugality will be remembered by his loved ones.

During his lifetime, Hugo served 20 years in the US Air Force as an Electronic Specialist and a Technical Trainer. He then added on another 24 years working as a civilian for the Department of Defense in Technical Training at Lowery Air Force base, Aurora, Colorado and Good Fellow Air Force base in San Angleo, Texas retiring in 2004, he continued to impart his knowledge by teaching AARP senior driving skills.

Hugo was a faithful member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, his spiritual home. In his earlier years he taught Sunday school and confirmation classes. He found solace in gardening and enjoyed the light exercise that golf offered him. He was a passionate advocate for Alzheimer's disease, a cause very dear to his heart.

He leaves behind his beloved children, Jeffery Redlin and Brenda Thurston, his son-in-law Howard Thurston and daughter-in-law Debra Redlin. He was a cherished grandfather to Christopher Redlin, his wife Amy, Ashley Redlin, Chad Thurston, Courtney Moffit and her husband Austin. He was a step grandfather to Cody Trask, his wife Sara and Levi Trask, and his wife Sheridan. Hugo was blessed with the following great grandchildren: Austyn, CJ and Carter Redlin, Carlie and Brandtley Thurston, River Moffit, Landon and Sophia Trask and Mia Borbely. His siblings, Gregory Redlin, and Constance (Connie) Foate, along with numerous friends, will miss his comforting presence. He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Redlin and daughter Valerie Redlin.

A viewing will be held for Hugo on July 9, 2024, at 9:00 am followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, ELCA. His burial will take place at 1:00 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery on the same day.

Hugo Redlin was known to his friends and family as a kind and generous person who enjoyed being a personal banker to those in need. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
