Ida "Miss Ida" Andrews was born in Ashdown, AR to Mr. Charles "Charlie" Tillman and Ollie McFadden. She has a son, Carlos Wayne Andrews, and a host of brothers and sisters that have preceded her in death. Many other family members currently live across the country.

"Miss Ida" was dearly loved by all who met and knew her, and will be tremendously missed. She became a "born-again" follower of Jesus in 1975, and truly loved growing in Bible knowledge. She was a long standing member of Colorado Community Church in Aurora, CO, and previously, a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Denver, CO.
Her hobbies were many as she was never without a project quilt to work on, furniture to repair, paintings to paint, traveling, cooking, entertaining family and friends, volunteering at church, talking on the phone for hours, going fishing, and loving her family. Her greatest joy was giving "joy" to others, especially by her endless wit. Her "witticisms" are far too numerous to quote. She also loved watching old western TV shows, even till the very end.

Miss Ida was married to George T. Andrews for over 50 years before his passing in August of 2001. They met during World War II, while traveling on a train in Bisbee, AZ. It was love at first sight, and they quickly married as Ida was living in Detroit, and George had to finish his enlistment in the U.S. Army. They were rejoined and moved to Pueblo, CO to begin their family. They moved from Pueblo, to Denver, CO soon thereafter as the war was coming to an end.

Miss Ida worked cleaning homes, and then became a mental health technician and worked in the field until her retirement. After raising her children, and retiring from her job, she decided to go back to school to learn artistic painting, furniture upholstery, and eventually acquired her GED diploma at the age of 68. Miss Ida was never at a loss of energy, and the zest for life and learning. She absolutely loved fishing, and would often go to the lake with other friends, and family in order to "get a bite." On one fishing excursion she actually caught the "big one," however, as it turned out it was a duck that she hooked in the beak and proceeded to reel it in thinking that it was the catch of a lifetime!

If you knew her, you were as blessed as we, her family, were in being loved by her. Thank you for your many prayers, praises, and well wishes. As she would often say, "I may not be ready to go, but I'm prepared." Her question to you is, "are you prepared?"

The only way to be prepared for eternity is to have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, by accepting Him as your Savior. Miss Ida would also tell you "all you have to do is ask Him."
