Ida Jean Clark, 99, of 13931 E. Marina Dr., #302, Aurora, CO 80014, passed away on March 11, 2022.
Ida, known as Jean by many, was born on July 8, 1922 to the late Ida and Joe Smallwood in Klondike, Texas. She graduated from Haskell High School in Haskell, Texas in 1941. She married Sgt. Wayne Clark (deceased) in Englewood, Colorado on March 29, 1945. They had been married 61 years.
Jean worked as a phone operator at the Haskell Telephone Company while in Texas. Her lifetime occupation was in Telephone Communications working for Mountain Bell as a staff technician and in the offices for 34 years.
She is survived by nieces and nephews and passed peacefully surrounded by immediate family consisting of her nephew, Don Smallwood, his wife Vivian Smallwood, their children, Jason Smallwood and Melissa Burger, and Sabina Smallwood who was married to her late nephew, Ron Smallwood and their son Adam Smallwood.
Siblings preceded in death: Maudie King, sister; James Eddie Smallwood, brother; Edith Evelyn Aston, sister; Lillian Maxine McCarty, sister; Ouida Elizabeth Johnson, sister; Joseph Earl Smallwood, brother; Pearline & Pauline Smallwood (twins), sisters; Richard Bradford Smallwood, brother.
A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 190 Potomac, Aurora, CO 80011 from 10:00am to 12:00 noon on Monday, March 28. Graveside service will follow at Fort Logan Cemetery at 1:15pm.
