Ida Lee Paul passed away December 17, 2019. She was born on July 6, 1929 in Columbia, Louisiana to Robert and Lucinda (Mama Cindy) Jackson of
Caldwell Parish. Ida Lee was the 6th of eleven children and is survived by 1 sister.
Ida Lee graduated from Central High School in 1947 and went on to marry Timothy M. Paul of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 3, 1952. Soon after,
they moved to Denver, Colorado along with her son Glenn D. Jackson. In Denver Ida Lee worked at Rose Hospital and worked also at several retail outlets. Eventually she landed a job that she loved as a teaching assistant in
the Denver Public School System.
At South High School, her final assignment as the library assistant, she challenged the students to "learn a little bit more than you knew yesterday." Many of the students appreciated this and would say so when they saw her out in the community, on the RTD or at neighborhood functions. "Miss Lee," as she was called by her neighbors, took the lead in keeping her neighborhood safe, clean and friendly. Everyone there knew and greeted her with respect when they passed by.
Ida Lee was a charter member of Macedonia Baptist Church serving over 60 years under the leadership of Pastors: Rev. A.G. Kendrick, Rev. Joseph L. Griffin, Rev. John B. Morris, Rev. Paul M. Martin, Sr. PhD. and Dr. Victor-LaMonte Lane. She was an active member of several church ministries serving those who were not able, until her illness and passing.
Ida Lee is survived by her sister, Carnelia (aka Pete) (Calvin) Fenrick of Waxshaw, N.C., her son, Glenn ( Marian) Jackson, Aurora, CO her beloved
great granddaughter, Cynthia Lawson, her granddaughter, Doris Alston, 7 great grandsons, 6 great-great grandchildren and generations of nephews, nieces and friends.
