Ila J. Slaven

Ila Janiece (Jan) Slaven was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born to Lon and Blanche Garrison on September 26, 1932. She and my dad dated for 3 months before getting married and that union lasted for 69 years. Together, they had 4 children: Diane, Bruce (deceased), Tammie and Kenny, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mama loved her family with all her heart and always worrying that we were ok. She was there for each and everyone of us when we needed, but also taught us not to take advantage of that generosity. Mama always had a spotless house, beautiful nails and hair done everyday. Mama couldn't sit still when she heard music start up, we danced many a dance together. I will love my mom forever.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on December 10 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church at 2771 Zenobia St., Denver 80336. In lieu of flowers, please donate Alzheimer's Association.
