Imogene (Jean) May Weston, of Denver, Co, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023. She lived at her place of residence that she shared with her beloved husband of 62 years. Imogene was 79 years old and was two days away from turning 80, She would always state her age as being that many steps closer to Jesus. Imogene was born on October 25, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois.
She attended many different schools as she grew up. Her final school was Denver West High School. While attending high school she and Edward had a couple mutual friends who set them up on a blind date and they had their first date on March 3, 1959. She dated Edward for just over a year when she married the love of her life on July 1, 1960. Imogene and her beloved husband Edward first lived in Manitou Springs while Edward was in the Army. Afterwards she and her beloved husband moved back to Denver, where they purchased a house and made a life with each other. Together they had three daughters, Debra Fay, Janet Kay, and Darlene Ann. Imogene worked as a stay at home mom / homemaker. She remained a homemaker for many years. Imogene started working for a friend at her ceramic shop and it was there that she learned how to make beautiful ceramic pieces. Imogene then had a wonderful opportunity to open her own ceramic shop in Denver, that was Sparkle Ceramics. Imogene loved doing ceramics and teaching others of all ages how to do the same.
Imogene also worked at Platte Park Recreation Center in Denver teaching seniors how to make beautiful ceramic pieces. Imogene was very talented; she also enjoyed crocheting that she had learned how to do from her mother-in-law Dorothy. She learned how to make porcelain dolls and knitting just to name a few of her other wonderful talents. Imogene was also a very good cook, and she loved to bake. She canned many different things over the years to stretch the family grocery funds.
Imogene's family and friends will greatly miss Imogene. Imogene is survived by her daughters Janet (husband Shawn) and Darlene (husband J.P.), grandchildren Megan and Kayla [Ace]. Imogene was preceded in death by her Dad RoRoy, Mom Helen, oldest daughter Debbie, and the love of her life, Edward. There will be a public viewing with a funeral service to follow directly after which has been organized by Newcomer and will be held in the West Chapel of Newcomer in Lakewood, Colorado, on November 4, 2023, starting at 1:00 pm. The family will gather after the services have concluded for a dutch treat reception at Looking Good Restaurant located at 66 Sheridan Boulevard.
