Ira "Leroy" Wren, 89, of Lakewood, passed away March 11, 2018.
He was born January 28, 1929 in Arvada, Colorado, the son of Ira and Beatrice (Polmear) Wren.
He was a graduate of Arvada High School.
On September 8, 1957, he married Marilyn Ostrander.
Leroy was a member of Mended Hearts and American Legion Post 178 in Lakewood. He was also a member of True Life Community Seventh-day Adventist Church where he was involved with Pathfinders Youth Group for over 30 years. Leroy was also inducted into the Pathfinders Hall of Fame in 1996.
Leroy loved tinkering in his shed. He loved camping, woodworking and fly fishing. He was an avid Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs, and Denver Broncos fan. Leroy loved to travel, Hawaii being his favorite destination. Leroy and Marilyn were snowbirds for 19 years, going to Arizona and going to Rockies Spring Training games.
Ira is survived by his Loving Wife of 60 years, Marilyn Wren; Three Sons, Timothy Leroy (Kathleen) Wren, William James (Janine) Wren and Lonnie Gene Wren; Four Grandchildren, Matthew James (Elizabeth) Wren, Leah Nicole Wren, Ryan James (Stephanie) Wren and Aaron Michael Wren; Great-Grandchild, Travis Scott Wren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by Father, Ira Pierce Wren; Mother, Beatrice Wren and Two Brothers, James Wren and Marvin Wren.
