Irene Lenore Gruninger, born June 15, 1931 in Denver Colorado to Mildred Hargrove and William Huston. She entered Heaven on April 28, 2022 after a brief illness.
Irene married Richard Donald Gruninger on February 14, 1948. She loved him so much they married again on April 29, 1951. They were married 59 years and lived in Denver their entire lives.
Irene raised 4 sons, loved to cook, sew, crochet, read and study history. She traveled to all 50 states with her husband. Irene was known as a sweet lady who was happy with the simple things in life. Her home and her family were the joys of her life.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Richard Donald Gruninger, her parents, her sisters Ruthie Riordon, Judy Riordon, Charlene Jones (Floyd). Her Son Michael Allen Gruninger.
She is survived by sons, Richie Gruninger (Kathy), Steve Gruninger, Mark Gruninger (Brenda). Daughters-in-law Jackie Gruninger (Mike) , Kris Gruninger. Grandchildren, Heather Renee Gruninger-Paquin, Tammy Griffin (Jeff), Terri McQueen (Matt), Hayley Henderson (Scott), Brandon Gruninger, Danny Gruninger (Katrina).
8 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Brother John Riordon (Peggy). Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends
At Irene's request no services will be held, her final resting place will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
In Irene's honor donations may be made to Colorado Humane Society or Denver Dumb Friends League.
