Irma Almanza

December 3, 1935 — March 22, 2025

Irma Almanza, a cherished soul and dedicated educator, departed this world on March 22, 2025, at the Denver Hospice, surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Born on December 3, 1935, in the vibrant town of Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Irma's journey through life was marked by her deep compassion, unwavering kindness, and infectious sense of humor.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching, Irma embarked on a fulfilling career as a bilingual teacher. Upon her retirement in 1997, she left behind a legacy that spoke volumes of her nurturing spirit. Irma was known for her immense love for children, consistently going above and beyond to ensure they were cared for. From providing clothes and shoes to those in need to crafting a welcoming environment in her classroom, she brought joy and comfort to many lives.

Her passions extended beyond the classroom walls. Irma cherished her time spent camping and traveling with her husband and children, fostering a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the joys of exploration. Inventive and resourceful, she found pleasure in sewing, often making clothes for her children, stirring memories of love in each stitch. The warmth of her home was matched only by the delightful aroma of her cooking, which brought family and friends together in joyous celebration. Irma also indulged in leisure activities like gambling and fishing, enjoying life with gusto and a playful spirit.

Irma is survived by her children: Ricardo Almanza Jr. (Valerie), Luis Fernando Almanza, Claudia Almanza, who together with her eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, will carry forth the enduring memory of her love and generosity. She is also survived by her sister, Rafaella De La Fuente, and her nephew, Jaime De La Fuente, who have shared in the tapestry of her life.

Irma's beloved husband, Ricardo Almanza, preceded her in death, but the bond they forged together will echo in the hearts of those who remember their laughter, love, and shared adventures.

In this time of remembrance, we celebrate Irma Almanza—a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend—who leaves behind a legacy of kindness and an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart full of love.
