Irvin Anthony Rodriguez
"Irv the Curve"
1946-2010
On January 30, 2010 our wonderful and beloved father, Irvin Anthony Rodriguez left us to join the rest of his family in Heaven. He lived a very full life and will be deeply missed by many.
Son of Josie Ruybal & Demetrio Rodriguez (deceased 1960), and raised by Obed Ruybal. Irv loved the time that he spent with his mother in Mogote, CO. He loved being by her side. He enjoyed helping her around the house, working in her yard and cooking together (especially tortillas and enchiladas). We know that he will be keeping a watchful eye on his mom from Heaven and will be by her side.
Husband of Gloria Leona Lee Rodriguez. Irv & Gloria have been together for 50 years and married for 45 years. They lived their life together in Denver, CO.
Our father was a wonderful, caring and loving father. We know that he will be watching over us and guiding us through the rest of our lives.
His children:
Randy "Cowboy" Rodriguez, wife Jennifer
Nancy "China Doll" Chidester, husband Justin
Anthony "Chubby" Rodriguez, wife Camilla
His grandchildren meant the world to him. He loved each of them so very much! We all know he'll be watching over them from Heaven above.
He was a very proud and affectionate grandpa to:
Miranda "Boo" (Randy)
Alec "Knuckle Head" (Randy)
Gabriel "Little Man" (Anthony)
Briana "Bri Bri" (Anthony)
Janessa "Nessa" (Nancy)
Ainsley "My Caboose" (Nancy)
Our father enjoyed so many things in life. He loved having his family together whether it be for a birthday, football game, or sometimes just because. He was an extremely generous person. He had a very giving heart and would help anyone in their time of need. He loved working in his yard, cleaning his cars, hiking and listening & dancing to his favorite music. He also loved to travel and really enjoyed coaching baseball and being involved with his children's activities. When not busy working or spending time with family here in Denver, he would drive to see his mother in Mogote, CO. That was his place of peace and tranquility.
Our father was the proud and very busy owner of The Mane Cut Barber & Hairstyling Shop. We know that many of his clients were also his friends. Our dad loved his job. He has some clients spanning 3 generations. He was the only barber most had ever known since their childhood. He also worked for the Post Office, at the General Mail Facility(GMF), as a mail handler. He has many friends there as well, He enjoyed working & joking with his co-workers, and making burritos & green chile for them.
He will be missed by so many of the lives he has touched. We will miss his smile, his sense of humor, his stories and so much more. Thank you for everything Dad! You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Love you!
Memorial Service: Friday, February 5th, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua, 3801 W. Ohio Ave. Denver, CO 80219, Rosary at 4PM Mass to follow the rosary. A small reception will follow next door.
On behalf of the Rodriguez Family we would like to thank our family, friends and co-workers for honoring and loving Irvin. With the help of our Lord, your love and support will help us through our loss. As we look around, you know that Irvin was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
Irvin was extremely generous in many ways. I received flowers every week. Nancy, Jennifer and Cami received flowers almost every visit.
He was involved here at St. Anthony's, making sure that everyone he knew had a nickname. He also dedicated time to Colorado Golden Gloves and the Optimist Club, because children are our future.
Irvin and I shared 50 years together from junior high until the day that the Lord called him home. He was so handsome.
Our hearts are broken. Irvin is gone but a part of him continues to live in Randy, Nancy Lee and Anthony. Along with our six grandchildren Miranda, Alec, Gabriel, Briana, Janessa and Ainsley.
His love knew no boundaries for his children and grandchildren. We know in our hearts our love for Irvin will never end and we will be reunited.
Thank you and God Bless.
