After a short illness, Jack Monlux, died January 21, 2007 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. He was born September 21, 1931 in Eckert, Colorado to William and Ruth (Reed) Monlux. The family moved to Denver when Jack was young. He graduated from High School and Technical School. He married his first wife, Idell; they later divorced. Jack married Joyce Smith on October 1, 1977. He retired from IBM in 1991. Jack attended the Peace Lutheran Church, was involved in various ministries and was a member and supporter of the Lutheran Laymen's League. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters Marci (Curt) Coble, Julie (Dave) Godsey, Sheryl Horan, Gloria (Tim) Geary, Tracy (Ramon) Larson; sons Rick (Laura) Smith and George (Janet) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert, a grandson, Shannon Fry, a son, Gary Smith, a daughter-in-law, Valerie Smith and a daughter, Robin Stroup.
Funeral Services are Friday, January 26, 2007 at 11:00A.M. at the Peace Lutheran Church, 5675 Field St., Arvada, CO, with a reception to follow. Burial will be at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO. There will be a viewing on Thursday, January 25, 2007 from 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M., followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M., also at the Peace Lutheran Church. Memorials may be sent to the Peace Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Laymen's League.
