Jack Leimkuhler, 86, of Denver passed away January 29, 2021 at his home.
He was born January 28, 1935 in Springfield, CO, the youngest son of Karl and Bernita Leimkuhler.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Joan and their three children: Jon (Kandy) of Key Largo, FL; Sherry Felchlin (Chris) of Olympia, WA; and Eric (Lynda) of Superior, CO and his two grandchildren: Tristan Felchlin (Suzy) and Alexandra Felchlin (Lee). He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Kenneth and Wesley) and sister (Mary Ann).
He met Joan at the First United Methodist Church while attending Trinidad State Junior College and after marrying, the young family moved to Denver where he was an active member at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Jack and Joan raised their family of 5 while he pursued a successful 35-year career at Mountain Bell/USWest, beginning as a telephone installer and advancing into management. In addition to managing the facilities for telephone call switching across Denver, Jack was involved in deploying many telecomm innovations to include: pagers, microwave signal transmission, cell phones and fiber-optic cable.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed: camping, boating, golfing or fishing with his family.
He cherished his time on the golf course with his dear friend Bob Mitchell and wading in a stream with a fly-rod and his other close friend, Charlie Inagaki.
An outdoor Memorial Service was held for the immediate family on January 30, 2021 at home.
