James Allen Riley, Jr. was born on December 14, 1965 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the second of three children born to James and Williestine Riley. He was baptized in Altus, Oklahoma at an early age.
James attended elementary school in Germany. During this time, James realized that he had a passion for sports. He became an excellent football player. In 1977, the family moved from Germany to Colorado. James attended Baker Middle School and Overland High School. He continued his education at Metropolitan State University earning a Bachelors of Science degree in business management in 2000.
After graduating from college, James moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he had a successful career as an insurance claims adjuster for the last ten years. But his true success was the way he lived and the positive interactions he had with those he came in contact with.
Affectionately given the nickname "baldy" by his sister Rhonda, this clean cut style became his trademark.
Spending time with family and friends was one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching and playing sports. He so dearly loved the Denver Broncos that he even named his dog Bronco.
James was unselfish in giving of his time. Within his community, he helped his neighbors with home remodeling projects, building fences and manicuring lawns. It was not unusual for James to open up his home to family and friends when they needed a place to stay. A pillar of the community, James was well respected, admired and loved.
On July 20, 2010, it was his hour to rest his physical presence from among us. James departed his life surrounded by his mother, family and friends at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia. The memories we share will keep him alive in our hearts forever.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents; James and Williestine Riley, his sisters; Regina Bowman and Rhonda Babb (Kevin), his nephews; Brandon Bowman, Camron Bowman and Andre Bowman, his niece; Audreon Babb, two great nephews and one great niece, all of Aurora, Colorado. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends.
