James Allen

July 21, 1958 — April 17, 2022

James (Jim) E. Allen
Born: July 21, 1958, in Denver, Colorado
Died: April 17, 2022, in Crestone, Colorado

Preceded in death by his father, George Allen and his mother Joyce (Haberman) Allen.

Survived by his wife, Leslie Ott; sister, Jeannette (Allen) Scott; brothers, Jeff and Jerry Allen; niece Valerie and nephews Lee and Daniel.

After graduating from Arvada High School, Jim joined the United States Coast Guard in 1976. Jim served one tour on an ice breaker, and ended his service stationed at Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii. While in the Coast Guard he received the Arctic and Antarctic Service Medals. Jim received his honorable discharge in 1980.

After leaving the Coast Guard, Jim started his career as a controls engineer. Forty-one years later, he retired from Servtech, Inc. in June of 2021.
Jim's passions were trains (trainiac extraordinaire) and fishing. Jim's love for the mountains prompted he and his wife to build their dream retirement home in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains of Crestone, Colorado. They moved there July 1, 2021.

Because of Jim's outgoing personality and genuine concern for others, he has many, many old and new friends that are also feeling this great loss.
