James Allen

Big Daddy Allen was a talented jazz pianist, World War II veteran, husband, uncle and friend. While serving in World War II he took part in the infamous Normandy invasion where he was wounded, at this time he discovered he had talent. Big Daddy went to perform his talents for many audiences. His most distinguished performance was at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth. He has performed with many great artists such as Lena Horne, Ray Charles, Count Basie, and Louie Armstrong.
Big Daddy Allen is survived by his long time companion Deanna Williams, and niece Prissy Harris and many friends. His memory, love, and "glowing" smile, we will cherish always. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 19, at Newcomer Funeral Home East Metro Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.newcomerfamily.com.
