James Raymond Christner

November 23, 1941 — March 30, 2022

James Raymond Christner, 80, died in hospice care March 30, 2022 while resting peacefully after a battle with cancer.

Born November 23, 1941 in Brownsville, Pa. He was the son of James A and Genevia M Christner. He was the husband to Barbara S Christner of Lonetree Colorado.

He served in the United States Navy and enlisted during the Vietnam era. His squadron participated in the Cuban Missile crisis.
He loved his work after the Navy. He had been a crane operator for over 10 years at the Ormet Corporation before moving to Colorado. He worked at Zimkor Industries for over 30 years doing metal Fabrication. Upon his retirement he was fond of gardening, tending to his tomatoes, feeding the birds and squirrels.

Surviving him in life are his wife of 54 years, Barbara S Christner, his three sons Jeffrey T Christner of Paden City Wva, James D Christner and Benjamin M Christner both of Lonetree Colorado, and two grandsons Jeffrey Sean Christner and Jordan Seth Christner both of Paden City Wva. He was proceeded in death by his son Jason Scott Davis Christner and his brother Tyrone Franklin Christner of Lisbon MD.

A memorial service will be held Monday April the 18th at 12pm at the Newcomer Funeral home 190 Potomac St Aurora Colorado. Dr Ron Caskey will be officiating. His interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 2:30pm following a short Military service at the gravesite.
