Died Tuesday, October 19 in the company of his children at the Hospice of St. John's in Lakewood. Jim was born in Fitchburg, MA, on January 10, 1932, to Edward and Sarah Donelan, and was one of 11 children. Jim was a Denver Public School teacher for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Swallow Hill Music Association for over 20 years and sang with the Last Note Singers. He enjoyed visiting numerous music festivals throughout the country including having attended the Walnut Valley Music Festival in Winfield, KA the last thirteen consecutive years.
His kind and generous spirit and love of music is survived through his six children, Jed, Peter, Matthew, Nancy, Kate and Tom; and his five grandchildren, Loretta and Doris Donelan, Aidan and Dominic Jared, and Brynn McCall. Jim will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all the students whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of All Souls on Tuesday, October 26 at 10:00am, 4950 S. Logan, Englewood CO. Donations can be sent in Jim's name to Swallow Hill Music Association, 71 E.
