James Eaglin, Jr., SSGT, USAF (Ret.), 88, of Aurora, passed away May 9, 2020.
He was born April 28, 1932 in Acadia, Louisiana, the son of James Eaglin, Sr. and JoAnna G. Eaglin LeFedge. He graduated High School in Louisiana. He received his Associates Degree in Criminology from Aurora Community College in 1974.
Mr. Eaglin retired as a Staff Sergeant after a 22-year career with the US Air Force having served during the Vietnam War and also was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Following his retirement from the Air Force, James and his family relocated to Colorado and worked for Army Air Force Exchange Service for 20 years.
On May 27, 1963, he married Doris Sanders.
He was a member of the Catholic Community on Buckley Air Force Base. James was also a member of the American Legion. James enjoyed gardening, fishing and meeting his retirement friends for coffee every week. He also loved watching golf and tennis, and he especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys.
James is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Doris Eaglin; children, James Eaglin III, Walter Wayne (Teri) Eaglin, Sherry Scott, Willard Vance (Margaret) Eaglin, Toren Byers and James Eaglin; 6 grandchildren, Vernon Scott, Jordan (Michael) Gardner, Alyssa Eaglin, Wayde Scott and Jonathan Barel; 8 great-grandchildren, Amilya Scott, Maurice Scott, SaVaughn Scott, Xavier Scott, Taya Scott and Ayla Scott, Aarilynn Gardner and Mekhi Gardner and Ki'aire Long; sisters, Dorothy Eaglin and Gilda LeFedge Bell and many extended family members in Louisiana and a host of friends in Texas.
He is preceded in death by father, James Eaglin, Sr.; mother, JoAnna G. Eaglin LeFedge; brother, Jesse Lee and sisters, Georgia May Eaglin and Rose Eaglin.
