James "Jim" Forsyth

November 1, 1929 — July 10, 2022

James H. Forsyth 1929-2022

We are sorry to say that our dear Dad, Jim, has passed away. A man of many talents and interests, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends. A life-long Denverite, Jim graduated in 1947 from South High School where he met and married the love of his life, Jody. The family was fortunate to help them celebrate their 50th Golden Anniversary in 1999. They were together another 10 years beyond that until her passing in 2009.

Jim never had a moment in his life when he was not occupied with some interest or activity. Until recent years he loved his hours on the golf course often shooting his age, building intricate model boats in his 'boatyard' in his basement, or puttering with his roses and other projects around the house. He loved movies and was an avid reader. OLLI classes became a major interest in the last couple of years with Jim taking every history class he could find.

Dad's career spanned 35+ years as a teacher/administrator in the Denver Public Schools. He was a role model and life-long friend to many of the people he worked with. He really loved those precious elementary school children in the schools in which he worked.

Jim leaves behind 2 loving daughters, Linda Forsyth and Barb Forsyth, two grandsons, Chris Lillo and Jeff Lillo, a son-in law, Dennis Linden, a wonderful granddaughter-in-law Dominique Lillo, and a sweet great grandson and namesake, James Lillo. The next time the family grills a steak or burger, raises a glass of gin and tonic, or washes and waxes one of the family cars, we will think of Jim! His loving and generous soul will be missed.

A small private family remembrance will be held for Jim.

Anyone wishing to honor Jim may donate to Denver Teachers' club, Denver Pet Partners, or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
