James "Jim" Warman Gourley was born July 29, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jim was raised by Evelyn Warman Gourley and David Gourley. He passed in his sleep on November 17, 2024 in Aurora, Colorado.
Jim served in the United States Army as a medic during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. In 1979 Jim and his family moved to Colorado to pursue a career in sales. He continued working in sales and marketing until he retired.
Jim had a passion for playing cards, skillful at games like gin, poker, blackjack, and liar’s poker. He also cherished golfing and was an avid fan of softball, baseball, and Broncos football. Jim enjoyed classic movies and television shows such as Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith and had a deep appreciation for country music.
He is survived be his wife Mercy (Sedillos) Gourley, daughter Jenna Allen, her husband James Allen and their children Ella and Maxx Allen, grandson Connor Gourley; son-in-law Troy Hiatt and daughter-in-law Danelle Hiatt and their children Alyx and Andi Hiatt; son-in-law Kevin Hiatt and daughter-in-law Melissa Hiatt and their children Hannah, Mason and Brooklyn Hiatt; and D-O-G, Jim’s dog, was not only a pet but held a special place in Jim’s heart; and many other family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by son Andy Gourley who is with him watching us from above.
The family of James Warman Gourley wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their support during this profoundly difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort to them.
