James Polk Williams, Jr., 88, died February 12, 2011. He was born in Paris, Texas on November 23, 1922 and moved to Dallas with his family in 1938. On November 27, 1943 he married Lanair Grizzard of Dallas, who survives him. He is also survived by their three children, Jim (Ann-Margret), Paul, and Laura (Guy) Harris, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his sister, Mary Lula Fleming.
He was buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery, having served in the U. S. Navy for three years during World War II. After retirement from his own CPA firm which he ran for over 30 years, he was business manager at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas. He was active in several Dallas churches as the city expanded. The couple moved to Colorado in 1991.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster United Methodist Church, 3585 W. 76th Ave., Westminster, CO, with his nephew, the Rev. Stephen Fleming, of Plaquemine, LA, officiating.
