James Edward Williams

February 7, 1957 — May 25, 2024

Mr. James Edward Williams transitioned from Earth to Glory on Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born February 7, 1957, in Denver, Colorado, to the late Jefferson and Elnora Williams. James was one of four siblings: Mary Ann, Donnie, and Linda, who preceded him in death.

James attended and graduated from Manual High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S.
Air Force, completing a four-year active-duty stint. He then attended Metropolitan State
University from 1982-1984. Destined to make a difference, he returned to the Air Force
Reserve Unit and faithfully served for over 31 years. He earned the rank of a Senior Master
Sergeant, serving as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor specializing in jet engine mechanics.
While serving, he was deployed several times to Ballard Air Base in Iraq and Incirlik Air Base in
Turkey. Notable among his many meritorious awards and certificates, James received the Air
Force Outstanding Unit Award and The Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member serving
on AD in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for the outstanding service he proudly gave.

James cherished his family above all. He was blessed with three sons from his first union:
Donnie, James Carl, and Justin Keith. Tragically, Donnie, the eldest, passed away before his
father. Despite this heartbreak, James remained a pillar of strength for his family. He found love
again and married Alice Cardona, continuing to build a loving and supportive home.

James was a devout follower of God’s word, a testament to his unwavering faith. He and Alice
were active members of Berean Bible Church in Denver for over 20 years. During this time,
James took on the role of a Sunday School teacher, nurturing the faith of young members. After
moving to East Aurora, they found a new spiritual home at Colorado Community Church. Once
again, James took on the role of a Sunday School teacher, this time guiding third and fourth
graders on their spiritual journey.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Williams; two sons, James Carl and his wife
Sinourn Williams of Dallas, Texas, and Justin Keith Williams of Thailand; two daughters, Auriel
and Aliccia Cardona, both of Aurora, Colorado; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a
host of other relatives and friends.
