Jane Palmer

April 16, 1943 — September 13, 2021

Jane Anderson Palmer was born on 16 April 1943 to Daniel LeRoy Anderson and Anna Louise Jorgensen in Salina, Sevier County, Utah. She grew up in Salina and attended Utah State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Homemaking Education on 5 June 1965. While a student at Utah State University, she took part in the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, New York.

Jane fell in love with the young man across the street, Douglas William Palmer; and they were married on 18 June 1965 in the Manti, UT Temple. Jane is survived by her sweetheart, Douglas, their children; Robert Douglas Palmer (Jennifer Colvin), Nancy Palmer Eastwood (Randle Eastwood), Nicole Palmer Hiatt (Adam Hiatt), Christina Palmer Deming (Troy Deming), and Spencer Burke Palmer (Ildiko Gubanyi Palmer), and her brother Daniel Melvin Anderson. Jane is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

As a supportive wife and dedicated mother, she was adventurous, fearless, creative, and resilient. Douglas's career took them all over the US and Canada. They lived in Arizona, Utah, Texas, (twice), Florida, and Ontario, Canada. Jane and Douglas moved to Colorado in 1984, where they built a family-owned international motorhome sales and rental business. Jane balanced a busy family and professional life, and she was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite her busy life, she found joy in service. She served her Stake and Ward faithfully in many callings not limited to but including Young Women's Advisor, Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine Instructor, and Primary Teacher.

Jane loved cooking and co-authored a cookbook "Love to Cook" with Doug's sister, Arlene, with a scrumptious collection of family recipes. Her culinary gift and her desire to share her best is a legacy cherished by her family and carried on through her friends.

Jane relished being around people and was loyal to all. She loved to travel and made the dearest of friends while immersing herself in the cultures of 35 different countries. Later in life, with her husband, they served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Singapore (Public Affairs, Singapore, Indonesia & Malaysia), Qingdao, China (Teaching English at Qingdao University), and Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Public Affairs).

On her return from her mission in Canada, Jane received a diagnosis of multiple myeloma cancer, and she courageously fought that battle for 6 years. She passed this life, as she lived her life, in peace and grace on September 13, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, Jane has asked that donations be made to the International Myeloma Foundation: https://give.myeloma.org/site/Donation2?3435.donation=form1&df_id=3435&mfc_pref=T#TRIBUTE
