Janelle M. Blue

Janelle Mae Blue was a loving wife, mother and friend to many. She passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2021 and will be dearly missed.

She was born to Jesse and Stella Stadler on November 26, 1938 and grew up happily on a farm near Minden Nebraska along with her parents and brother Gerald. She recalled many fond memories of her childhood including being surrounded by a loving extended family and spending time at the Keene Evangelical Free Church.

After graduating from Minden High School, Janelle attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska. She met her future husband Gary Dean Blue in Kearny and they were married on March 9th, 1958. Together they had three children: Kevin Dee in 1959, Camille Ann in 1961 and (Gary) Mark in 1962.

Janelle and Gary were hard workers and entrepreneurs throughout their lives together and had been married 59 years when Gary passed away in January of 2017. The numerous businesses they owned and operated together included four restaurants in Nebraska and three floral shops in Colorado. Janelle was also a licensed realtor operating primarily in the Lexington, Nebraska and Fort Collins, Colorado areas. Most notably, Gary and Janelle ran A Calla Lily Floral in Aurora, Colorado for over 20 years. Janelle spoke often about how much she loved the floral business and working alongside Gary and their florists. She possessed an incredible talent to create beautiful arrangements and could identify almost any flower, plant or tree by sight or description.
She loved her late poodles Gigi and Molly, and also Gracie, who now lives with Mark and Jane. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, watching movies and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Janelle always had great style, and was complimented often on her pretty outfits.
Janelle is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Stella, brother Gerald, husband Gary, and children Kevin and Camille. She is survived by her son Mark (and wife Jane), and granddaughter Demetria "Deme" Davis.

Janelle's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 24th at Newcomer East Chapel, 190 Potomac St., Aurora, CO 80011. Visitation will be from 10-11am. The service will begin at 11am followed by a reception at the facility.
A private interment will be held at J.S. Parker Cemetery in Parker, Colorado at a later date.
