Janet Elaine Geist

Janet Elaine Geist, 77, of Aurora, passed away July 19, 2018. She courageously fought cancer for 2 ½ years. She slipped into Heaven surrounded by all of her family.

She was born March 7, 1941 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Thomas and Harriet "Kim" (Hill) Doran. She was a graduate of South High School. She attended Colorado State University. On May 26, 1961, she married the love of her life, Gary Geist, in Westminister, Colorado. She lived in Denver and Aurora for the past 57 years. Her life was devoted to her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Debbie (Mike) Paul, Jeff (Mary) Geist and Stacy (Randy) Burke; grandsons, Joshua (Katie) Paul, Louis Geist, Joseph Geist, and Cory Crigger (Melissa Franklin); four granddaughters, Kelsey (Dan) Carruth, Karly Paul, Whitney (Jared) Dawson, and Sydni Crigger; four great-grandsons, Luke Carruth, Isaac Carruth, Jett Paul, and Wade Crigger; great-granddaughter, Tatum Paul; sisters, Nancy (Larry) Rule and Barbara Rule; and cousin, Linda Riegel. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas McDonald Doran; mother, Harriet Cleo "Kim" Doran; and granddaughter, Katie Rose Paul.
