Janet Kay Wilkin, 67, of Littleton, CO, passed away December 3, 2007 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Wilkin was born in Denver, CO on February 3, 1940, the daughter of Richard and Helen (Rickey) Bickford. She attended schools in Denver and graduated from South High School in 1957. Mrs. Wilkin worked as a Secretary to the Registrar of Silver State Baptist School and South Sheridan Baptist Church; she also served the Bureau of Reclamation as Branch Secretary of Operation and Maintenance Technical Services at the Denver Federal Center. She later was a Special Education Para-Educator at Fletcher Miller School.
Mrs. Wilkin held various church offices as well: Christian Education Committee, Greeter, Sunshine Committee, Choir, Pioneer Girls, AWANA Cubbie Leader and S.A.M. (Senior Adult Ministries).
At age 10, Mrs. Wilkin was saved under the ministry of Evangelist Merv Rosell at Mammoth Gardens Convention Center, Denver, CO in June of 1950.
She was baptized at Judson Memorial Baptist Church, Denver, CO on June 24, 1951 by Pastor William H. Lee Spratt.
Mrs. Wilkin is survived by her husband, James H. Wilkin; her daughter, Susan Weed; son-in-law, John Weed; grandchildren, Janelle and Austin Weed; and sisters, Jean DeBoer and Nancy Johansen. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Wilkin.
Memorial Services, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 2:00P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Golden, 1805 Washington Ave., Golden, CO, with Rev. Roy Walls, officiating. A reception at the church will follow the service.
Private Inurnment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
