Janice Elaine Thompson Taylor

The journey began for Gunda Maria Ostafyczuk aka Janice Elaine Shaw on December 2, 1952, adopted from Gissen, Germany by Allen Eugene Shaw and Clara Maria Wrenn. Becoming a United States Citizen and growing up in Dayton, Ohio in a rather large family with 3 brothers and 2 sisters Janice would prove that she was not very big on school as her grades and attendance soon reflected that reality. By age 16 she whisked into adult life and had her first baby girl Rosalyn Elaine. By the age 20 she had continued on in her journey and gave birth to her second child JayLynn Dennese with her soon to be husband Dennis Thompson, 12 months later in her new move to San Antonio, Texas she went on to have her last and final baby girl Dawn Jaleen. Janice and her family made there way to Denver, Colorado and finally settled in for the long haul. As time went on Janice would find herself to be a single mother raising her 3 girls. She was employed with Allstate Insurance and Travelers Insurance before she made her mark at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Company. During the next several years of her life she stayed single until she married Aaron Martin Taylor June 12, 1999. As she continued to turn the chapters in her life she would finally make her biggest turn when she gave her life to Christ. On October 30,2001, Janice was filled with the Holy Ghost already being baptized in Jesus name and delivered from alcohol she was walking a more straight and narrow path. She went on to become a Sunday school teacher and a pillar in the church. She taught many Bible Studies and witnessed for the Lord. In 2013 Janice would face the biggest fight of her life, Arthritis gave her a run for her money hardening the main artery in her neck causing the blood to stop flowing. Janice was placed in the hospital facing many obstacles, after 30 days in a comma she miraculously made a turn around for the good. She eventually came home in November of 2014 undergoing surgery to be given a steel rod in her neck and rehabilitation to learn how to walk and function again. Her undeniable strength and Gods great grace and mercy helped her to continue on. In May of 2017, Janice would unfortunately lose her husband of 18 years to a battle with Parkinson's Disease and yet she continued to stand. As her own health continued to decline she stayed steadfast in serving the Lord and working until September 2021 when she retired from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. December 6,2021, would soon prove to be another battle for Janice as she ended up back in the hospital for unknown reasons. Unfortunately this trip to the hospital would come with many ups and downs, not allowing her to return home on Rifle Court but instead God called her to her true home Monday, June 27, 2022 Janice leaves to cherish her memories Daughters; Rosalyn, Jaylynn, Dawn, Son Marquies, Grandchildren; Jaleesa(Brandon), Jasmine(James), Jordan, Jajuan, Jennis(Brianna) Auriyah, Jaaziel, Jair and Marquelle, 9 Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Sheryl(Dan),Kimberly, Teresa and a host of family & friends.
