Virgie Imogene Davis Gibbs Baliman-Adams was born Sept. 10,1929 in Marlow, Ok. to Herman H. Davis and Carrie L. Davis. The second child of three. Her parents were farmers not of great wealth but rich in faith, family and love. Imogene always hated her name and at a very young age became known as Jean! Jean couldn't wait to grow up and leave the farm so she left home very young. At age 17 married Leslie Leon Gibbs and they moved to Duncan where they were blessed with 2 children, Karen Jean Gibbs born in Oct. 12, 1950 and Leslie Kevin Gibbs born Nov 13, 1953. Jean spent many years as a cashier for the Gibsons store in Duncan where she and Leslie raised their children. In 1970 Jean and Leslie divorced. Jean and her children moved to Colorado where her brother, H. Royce Davis lived. It was here in Colorado that Jean met the love of her life, Richard J. Baliman and married him August 10,1972. In 1980 Jean decided to go to school and become a real estate sales agent. In fact, she was a top producer over and over in the Realty World franchise and the ERA companies as well. In July 1991, Richard went home to the Lord leaving Jean very lonely. Jean became involved in the senior center and through activities and friends from the center, she met the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, and she did, Jim Adams. On July 27,1994 they were married. In Feb. 2000 Jean was stricken with Congestive Heart Failure, a disease which almost took her life, and eventually along with COPD did take her life. On July 5,2010 she went home to see Jesus.
Jean loved her family and her family gatherings so much. She also had a love for her pets, they were part of her family. Jean enjoyed dancing and singing and playing her harmonica. She also enjoyed her successful real estate career.
She was loved by many and loved many. Jean will be missed terribly but we know she is rejoicing in the presence of our Lord.
