In Loving Memory of Jean Hogan
1924 – 2020

Jean was born Wanda Jean Durkee on June 22, 1924 in Osage, Wyoming. Jean passed away on May 14, 2020 after 4 months in Memory Care battling Alzheimer's disease.

At a young age, her Mother Marie moved with her two daughters to Denver where they remained the rest of their lives. Jean first met "Hogan", her one and only love, roller skating at Mammoth Gardens at the age of 15. Her ability to dance sealed the deal for "Hogan" and they continued to date until "Hogan" went into the Navy during World War II. They were married on July 7, 1945 almost immediately upon his safe return from the war. As a prerequisite to their marriage, "Hogan" needed to know that Jean was ok with him becoming a fireman. Their first child, Michael was born 9 months later followed by daughters Ginny and Judy. After raising their 3 children, Jean went to work at Blue Cross as a temp. She did such a good job, that she was offered a permanent position that lasted another 20+ years. After they both retired, they were able to take numerous road trips in their various campers enabling them to see many beautiful parts of the country.

Jean spent 15 years after "Hogan's" passing with daughter Ginny enjoying gambling at Blackhawk as well as traveling together to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Florida and Seattle to name a few. They loved attending Rockies home games, going out to dinner and taking drives in the mountains.

After Hogan's passing, Jean lived alone in the home they raised their family. Her daughter Judy felt privileged to spend the last year of Jean's life with her.

Jean is pre-deceased by "Hogan" her husband of 60 years, her parents Marie and Byron Williams, her sister Betty and her son Michael. She is survived by her two daughters, daughter-in-law Sherry, grandchildren Jeff, Michelle(Brian), Cristi(Jason), Ben and Sophie. In addition she had 4 great grandchildren, Kailey, Cameron, Audrey and Coho.

Jean was dedicated to and loved her family unconditionally. Her warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and generosity leaves so many fond memories for her family to hold onto. She will be dearly missed by all.
