Jeanne Delores Miller died on May 10, 2024. She was born on September 16, 1930 in Spencer, Iowa to Ralph and Isabel (Rubis) Miller. She had an older brother Robert and a younger sister Marilyn, to whom she was very close.
She graduated from Spencer High School in 1948 before completing the Private Secretarial course at the Minneapolis School of Business in 1951. She began her career working for the ROTC at the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul. She then made her move to Denver where she worked in the banking industry before finding employment as the personal secretary for the owner of Kenny Construction. She held this position until the passing of Mr. Kenny. She continued to work as a secretary until her retirement.
She was the proud owner of a townhome at Chamber's Ridge, mainly because it allowed her to finally have a dog of her own. There was no happier day for Jeanne than the day she brought home her German Shepherd puppy, Heidi. To say she loved that dog is an understatement. They were constant companions throughout Heidi's life. Jeanne was then also able to share her love with a rescued racing greyhound named Bonnie Blue. It was a sad day when after the passing of Bonnie she realized that she could no longer care for a pet.
In the almost 41 years Jeanne lived at Chamber's Ridge, she was president and then the secretary for the H.O.A. there. This was a position she took very seriously, always trying to do the best for the residents of Chamber's Ridge.
Jeanne was a wonderful aunt to her nephew Don and her niece Jeanne and their families, always sharing her support and love generously. She was particularly taken with the newest member of the family, her great-great nephew James. Due to his parents' desire to have James know his great-great aunt, they made sure that when they were in the States from Germany, they spent time together at her home, sharing him with her. She found great joy in this little boy, and would share updates and stories about him with anyone who would listen.
Jeanne was a wonderful friend to many. She had a cheerful, fun-loving personality that others enjoyed and were drawn to. She was always up for a visit to Helga's for some good German food and a cold beer. She was also a big fan of the Denver Broncos, in good times and bad, and never missed watching a game.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and Don's wife, Dusty. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Helmers, her nephew Don Helmers and his children- Greg and Dee Dee Helmers (Kaiden, Austin, Luke), Kristen and Chris McCaslin (Maddie), and Heidi Helmers, as well as her niece Jeanne and her husband Dennis Graves and their children- Evan Graves, and Leah and Angelo Cuomo (James).
