Jeanne Lindstrom Varney, 85, of Arvada, died Monday September 17th. She was born to the late Ivar and Merrill Lindstrom, on May 20, 1933, in Milligan, Nebraska. Jeanne graduated from High School in Geneva, NE and received her Bachelor of Music/Education at Nebraska Wesleyan University. She married the late Halbert W. Varney Jr. on December 23, 1956 in Geneva, NE. They moved to Arvada, Colorado in 1960.
Jeanne received her Master degree in music at the University of Colorado while raising her two young daughters and later a third daughter joined the family. She taught Elementary Music at Jefferson County Schools until her retirement. After retiring from teaching full time, she substituted at many schools in the Arvada area.
Jeanne started her new career after retirement and appeared in many theater productions, commercials and movies. She also was a Mezzo soloist at St. Luke's Episcopal Church for many years. Jeanne had many other interests and enjoyed traveling with her husband Hal, singing, dancing, painting, and of course acting.
Jeanne is survived by her brother Ivar and wife Allene of Los Alamos, NM, and her brother in law Earl Varney of Arvada. Daughters, Linda and husband Ben Hansford of Fort Lupton, CO, Cindy and husband Doug Staley of Seattle, WA and Virginia Varney of Arvada. She is survived by Grandchildren, Shannon Torrey, Neal Obel, Miranda Staley, Lars Varney, Kyle Varney, Lacie Varney and Kenzie Alvarado. She is also survived by Great Grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Nevaeh and Zoriah.
