Jennie Lee Arellanes

Jennie Lee Arellanes, age 85, passed away at her daughter Debbie's home surrounded by family on December 28, 2020.
She was born in Red Cliff, Colorado on February 14, 1935, to Aristo and Ella Rodriguez. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Sam and Michael), a sister (Jenkie) and an infant son (James). Jennie married Frank Arellanes, Jr., on October 9, 1954, a marriage that lasted 63 years until Frank's death in 2017. She is survived by her children, Debra Schrimp of Lakewood, Colorado, Mindy Dowd of Aurora, Colorado, and Michael Arellanes of Foristell, Missouri. Jennie is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great children.
Jennie taught English to Spanish-speaking junior and senior high school students in the Denver public school system for several years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and her swimming exercise classes during her retirement. Jennie and Frank were very involved in multiple ministries as church greeters, Senior's ministry and prayer groups at New Hope Ministries. Jennie loved spending time with both her family and church family, celebrating special occasions, holidays and church every Sunday. She would talk about her love for Jesus and how thankful she was to know Him. She spent every day praying and praising her Lord and Savior. Jennie will be deeply missed and always remembered.
