Jerome F. Stevens

August 26, 1946 — November 18, 2018

Jerome F. "Jerry" Stevens, 72, of Aurora, passed away November 18, 2018.

He was born August 26, 1946 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Vincent and Helen (Shannon) Stevens. He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School. Jerry attended Metropolitan State University. On April 4, 1987 he married Kathleen Shearon, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In his senior yearbook it states that, "His quietness speaks for itself." This was so true of Jerry. He was very quiet but very passionate. He loved his country and family. He would talk for hours about his experiences, where he went, what he did, and how he did it. These could be about his life growing up, military, work, or the Broncos! Or he could simply sit on the couch and watch the Bronco game. "Please do not disturb" would be his facial expression.

One story that was told was when he was growing up, Jerry would march in the backyard with his Cub Scouts as the leader although he was a member and his dad was the leader. He had great aspirations.

Hobbies included: Avid sports enthusiasts. He watched the Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Buffalos.

His Bronco Room had just about anything you could think of. Bottles of Coke, pennants, calendars, signed footballs, John Elway signed memorabilia, banner for the back to back Super Bowls, and so much more! When out of ideas for a gift all you needed was to get a Colorado sport team new product. That is if you could get it before he did!

He would keep track of classmates from Mount Carmel High School. He attended the 70th Birthday celebration for Class of 1964 members that turned 70 in 2016. He enjoyed dinners with some of his classmates from time to time.

His computer skills consisted of keeping keep track of family and friends on Facebook and playing card games - when Kathy was not home.

Memberships included: Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and VFW.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathleen Stevens; brothers, Barry (Patricia) Stevens and Scott Stevens; sister, Robin (Robert) Seelbach; sisters-in-law, Carol (Bill) Wright and Diane (Dan) Brotzman; brothers-in-law, Steve (Mary) Shearon and Jeff (Susan) Shearon; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as lots of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen L. and Vincent R. Stevens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Council 7502, 2911 W 104th Ave, Northglenn, CO 80234.
