Jimmie Dean Sharkp (1950-2023)
Jimmie Sharkp, at age 72, of Aurora, CO passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023. He was born to the late Betty (Pooler) Polivka on December 15, 1950, in Phoenix, AZ.
Jim joined the US Army at age 17 and was a Vietnam War Veteran and served until 1976. He worked as a mechanic for Samsonite and served one term as the Union President. Upon leaving Samsonite he ran his own HVAC company until he retired. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was great at math and enjoyed solving puzzles. He liked watching Sci-Fi movies and series. His dog Chew-Chew was a great companion for him while he watched TV sitting by his side. He enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved spending time with his grandson who inherited his grandfather's gift to tell a good joke.
Jim is survived by his wife Shuyu "Jade" Xing, his daughter Pamela Sharkp, son-in-law Stephan Michael Britton-Pogue, and grandson Ty Sharkp of Aurora. Jim's Siblings: Bessie Cappelletti, Mary Bradway, Lonnie Polivka Jr., Richard Polivka, and Shane Polivka.
Jim will be laid to rest at Fort Logan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
