Joan Marie Carty

Joan Marie Carty of Aurora CO passed away at the age of 86 on July 27, 2022 surrounded by family after complications from surgery. She was a loving Mother, Grandmom, Mom-Mom and loyal companion.
Joan was preceded by Neal, her husband of 27 years, her mother Marie Antoinette, her father Stephen and step father Oscar. She is survived by her companion Dave with whom she spent 36 years. Also by her three children and their spouse's Steve (Jeanie), Cliff (Sue), Laura (Doug) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren supporting them in all aspects of their lives. She could often be seen supporting them on the sidelines of their sporting events. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a big heart and went out of her way to help anyone in need or just be a compassionate listener. She has many friends who love her, as does her family. She is and will always be deeply missed. Joan was an active board member of VWIN, a veteran's widow organization that helped other veteran's widows. Joan and Dave were members of the Elks, Eagles, and TREA, where they spent many enjoyable afternoons and evenings with friends. If there was a family event, she was there. She had an infectious smile and laugh and always showed up for others.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday August 21st 2022 at 12:30 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church 1450 Airport Blvd Aurora Colorado. With a gathering of friends and family to immediately follow.
