Joe Jackson

August 31, 1964 — December 14, 2022

Obituary

Our beloved Joseph Dewarren Jackson, 58, of Aurora, CO, peacefully passed away on December 14, 2022.

Joe was born on August 31, 1964, to Joseph and Mary Jackson in Fayetteville, NC. After graduating from Montbello High School in 1983, he went on to obtain an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Metropolitan State College of Denver.

He began his federal career with the Department of Air Force, kickstarting a 36-year career in Information Technology. Joe married Myrna July 2, 2010. Together they enjoyed gambling at casinos and traveling across the country. In August 2020, after 36 years of federal service, he retired from the General Services Administration as an Information Technology Manager.

Joe was the life of the party! His hobbies included basketball, horseshoes, bowling, playing pool and dominos (he loved talking trash). Joe also loved to cook, thinking he was Chef Boyardee. He loved getting smothered burritos from Chubby's and calling his mama to make him anything he had a taste for (and she happily obliged her only son). His greatest passion was to publicly embarrass his family singing his made-up
song, Ohhh Libby. Each time Joe sang it was a different rendition than before.

He is survived by his wife Myrna; parents Roy and Mary Johnson; children Mikena and Joey; grandchildren Olivia, Jaylen and Jordan; siblings Rhonda (Blaine), Mary (Roger), Jessica, Michael and Tony; nieces/nephews Elena, Angela, Timothy, Makia, Ronnie, Vince, Justice, Sumira, Merrick and Kyler; great nieces/nephews Xavier, Maliah, McKenzie, Ariah, Tillson and Nyelli. Joe will also be missed by a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ray Jackson.
