Joe O. Lopez

Joe O. "Papa Joe" Lopez, 81, of Lakewood, retired from Gates Rubber Co. after 32 years, where he was known as the "Ironman". Survived by his beloved wife Alyce, children Priscilla Jaramillo, Frederick, Anthony (Bea), Bernard "Buma", Gerald (Betsy), John(Tina). Preceded in death by his eldest son Orlando. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Viewing on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Newcomer Family Mortuary. Rosary on Wednesday, l0 a.m.; with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.; both at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7420 W. 12th Ave., Lakewood. Funeral procession to Mt. Olivet Cemetery following service. Reception to follow back at St. Bernadette's.
