Joel Lee Hayden, 58, of Lakewood, Colorado, went to be with Jesus, whom he adored, on Friday morning, February 22, 2019.
He was born to Jerry and Grace Hayden on September 26, 1960, in Denver, Colorado. Joel graduated from Robert Weiland School in 1979, where he enthusiastically participated in basketball, track, and swimming, as well as skiing in the Special Olympics.
He lived with and is survived by his parents, Jerry and Grace Hayden; his brother, Jeff and wife, Nebbi, and their children, Drew (Tonya), Kelsey Jones (Terrence), and Trevor (Bekah); his sister, Jennifer and husband, Scott Gregory, and their children, Luke and McKenzie; and six great nieces and nephews.
Joel worked at The Point Athletic Club where he helped people enjoy and accomplish their workout, along with having a little fun. He enjoyed the great outdoors, jeeping, hiking and camping where he loved to eat hot dogs off the open fire. He loved to attend church. Worshiping the Lord through music was one of his greatest joys. He would be in the middle of any gathering of people who were praising God. Joel loved people and people loved Joel. His greatest accomplishment was that he loved people as Jesus loves them—unconditionally.
