Joel Seibel's Obituary
Joel Lynn Seibel, 44, died on Saturday, August 26, 2006 following a long struggle with alcohol. He did openly share with many that he knew he was in a right relationship with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for which we praise the Lord. Services celebrating Joel's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Belleview Community Church at 12472 W. Belleview in Littleton, Colorado with Pastor Mike Andrews officiating. Burial with be in the Golden Cemetery at Golden, Colorado. Burial will be handled by Newcomer Family Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado.
Joel Lynn Seibel was born August 8, 1962 in Denver, Colorado. As a boy he was baptized upon the confession of his faith in Christ and became a member of the Belleview Community Church in Littleton where he participated in the AWANA Clubs and other youth activities. He attended elementary and high school in Lakewood graduating from Bear Creek High School in 1979 where he participated on the gymnastics team. Growing up he enjoyed many camping and dirt bike experiences with his mom, dad and brother along with several other families. After high school he attended Seible School of Drafting in Denver followed by eighteen years in the computer drafting field which included 12 years with Martin & Martin Engineering in the Denver area. The last four years he worked doing interior trim carpentry in luxury homes. Woodworking and building beautiful furniture was one of the many joys of his life.
In September of 1992 he was married to Susan Burke in a chapel near Boston and then settled in Denver. Through the years of his struggle with alcohol he was blessed to have more than a dozen people directly reaching out to him included his wife, parents, brother, friends in AA, his church friends and other deeply committed Christians.
He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his mom and dad, Marlene and Harlan Seibel and his brother Dwight and wife, Lynn.
Joel will be remembered best for his pleasant and courteous spirit to all who learned to know him. Memorials are suggested by providing 'In Memory' Bibles through the Gideons International.
