Born to Joseph & Lena Cordova
Born in Las Vegas, NM until 1953 when the family relocated to Thornton, Colorado.
He was a Boy Scout with his younger brother which worked out because in 1968 was drafted to the Army. He spent majority of his service in Germany and was later honorably discharged. He later became a construction Forman, carpet installer, entrepreneur, and a man of many traits. He could literally learn to do anything and did almost everything.
He enjoyed his Mexican food, his BBQ and he would never refuse something sweet just like his dad. Was a master at fishing and enjoyed camping, church and all things sports. Huge sports fan especially the Broncos and the Nuggets. The family is convinced he chose his passing the day the Nuggets won the Championship to get a better seat, the best seat with his father and Heavenly Father in Heaven.
He was funny, liked music, loved his coffee, unfortunately his cigarettes, photography, photo restoration, drawing, tying flies, king of DIY and master of many traits. Loved volunteering, leather working, forging knives and he loved to cook, nuts in everything, loved to eat, and loved to BBQ. Fun fact, in 2020 he was preparing to start a Traeger BBQ business.
Faith, Family and Country meant everything to Richard. Other than God, Richard loved his parents! In 2009 Richard paused his life to take care of his father Joseph, when he had a stroke, until he passed in 2017 and continued to be a caregiver for his beautiful mother until the the days leading up to his passing
Richard is survived by - Mom, Lena. Siblings, Lillian, Nick and many nieces and nephews and countless others he made feel like family.
