John S. Aguilar

June 24, 1944 — October 24, 2023

John S. Aguilar passed away peacefully surrounded by several members of his loving family on October 24th, 2023 in Aurora, CO after a strong battle with Myotonic Dystrophy.

John was born in Aguilar, CO, on June 24th, 1944. He served with the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968, including an inspiring stint in Japan. He retired from Honeywell International after 32 years, where he thrived on building relationships and finding solutions that worked for all of his customers.

John was a devoted Catholic, an honorable man, and dedicated to his family. He had a sharp mind, a strong will and was always willing to give a helping hand. With a penchant for figuring out how to make things work, he was the family's go-to on how to fix just about anything. He cherished time with his family, traveling, hiking, fishing, and going on road trips.

He is survived by his three children: Jenifer, John Jr (partner Amy), and Julie (husband Andrew); three grandchildren: Laurana, Tannim, and Connor; two sisters: Michele (late husband Jim) and Phyllis (husband Stoney); nine nieces and nephews: Deborah, Keith, Sherry, Jim (wife DeAnn), Steve, Darla, Brian, Joe (wife Karen), and Dan (wife Laura); and close friend: Carol.

While we mourn the loss of this beloved man, we find solace in knowing that he is now reunited with his father Joseph, mother Frances, brother Joseph III, sister Cleo, and nephew Marty.

There will be a reception Immediately following the burial at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226
