John Francis "Jack" Egan, passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2023 at the age of 93 in North Platte, Nebraska.
Jack is survived by his siblings, Tommy (Anna) Egan, Marion (Fred) Schindel, Jim (Bev) Egan, Helen (Leo) Ready, Gerard (Katherine) Egan; his children, Patrick (Kate) Egan, Sean (Amy) Egan, Kathy (Donald) Miller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Egan; parents, William and Marion Egan; siblings, Arnold Egan, Shirley Higgins, and Desmond Egan.
Jack was born in Osceola, Ontario, Canada on March 3rd, 1929 to William and Marion Egan. He attended Connaught, a one room schoolhouse in Osceola through high school. Prior to entering the workforce, Jack worked on the family farm. Heading into the workforce he truly became the "Jack of all trades". From starting out as a clerk in the Department of National Defense, to goldmine operations, and lastly working his way up through I.T.T to become a
Supervisor of Purchasing. His lengthy career allowed him to see new parts of the world including Belgium, Israel, and Alaska.
On September 5th, 1964 Jack married Elizabeth Jane Fraser. On May 13th 1968, December 16th, 1969 and December 8th, 1972 respectively, he
welcomed his three children, Pat, Sean, and Kathy who were the most important part of his life. Jack re-married on April 4th, 1992 to Gloria Miller whom he spent the rest of his days with until her passing in 2017.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his children, step-children, and grandchildren very much. He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, bookworm, woodworker, and best of all, a fabulous cook. During his retirement if he wasn't in the garden or garage working away, you could find him at the golf course. Jackie lived a full life and was well loved by his family and friends, he will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 3rd, 9am MT until service time (10am) at Queen Of Peace Catholic Church, 13120 E Kentucky Ave, Aurora, CO 80012. Jack will be lovingly placed in Saint Simeon Catholic Cemetery located in Aurora, Colorado.
