John Charles Macgill III, known to us all J.C., was born on December 9, 1949, in Fort Meade, MD, and passed away on February 6, 2025, in Aurora, CO. He lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
J.C. worked for many many years in airfreight. Pilot airfreight, Northern airfreight, and Blackhawk. Just to name a few. Eventually J.C. began a job as rampie for United airlines which is where he retired from. J.C. had a love for sports, as everyone knew his love for Colorado and Colorado sports, was undeniable.
An avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, J.C. cherished Sundays with the newspaper in hand, eagerly tackling the week’s challenges. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen BBQing in his backyard, enjoying a cold beer, and listening to music. While telling us “Some beach, somewhere” and “It’s 5 o'clock somewhere,” encapsulated his laid-back attitude towards life.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Macgill. J.C. also has 2 daughter's Keri and Carly Macgill, and he a grandfather to Adrian Nevarez and Kailee Macgill Williams (Trey). He is also survived by his sisters, Anne Macgill and Jeanine Day (Michael), all three of Virginia. And his Life long friend Carol Macgill.
Known for his one-of-a-kind personality, J.C. was wonderfully obnoxious, always in fun. His adventurous spirit led him into some memorable stories such as freezing his tongue to a stop sign and narrowly avoiding disaster with a gas grill, earning him countless stories and a reputation for living life to the fullest.
J.C. taught those around him to embrace love, laughter, and individuality, reminding everyone to live life on their own terms. His legacy will continue to inspire many to appreciate each moment, savor good food, with good friends and celebrate life with joy.
