John Tongish

John H. Tongish was born on February 4, 1917 in New York City, New York. He was adopted from The New York Foundling Home. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a Staff Seargent and was honorably discharged on September 29, 1945. He was employed by Martin-Marietta Corp. from 1957-1970. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior in March of 1969 and entered Tennessee Temple University in May of 1970 and graduated with a degree in Theology. He was interested in music and singing and was active in Gethsemane Baptist Church. He also was interested in fishing and photography. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary and four children, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
